A stunning Swedish oil painting on canvas of a farmer using a scythe to cut the hay by hand.  The wide visible paint strokes provide texture and depth and the colour palette is of golden yellows, ochres and oranges.  A truly beautiful piece.  Joy Annalisa Engel 1946.
